MINI's new dealership in Jordan, where anything else is just traffic

After the closure of Ole Jordan a few years ago, Mini Cooper has been away from our market for quiet a while. Only the cars purchased earlier or shipped here at this time were roaming around but without a father to go to.

But with the beginning of 2012, Abu Khader has been working on a few plans and have actually started good!
on March 17th, Abu Khader Automotive have launched their new Mini section at their BMW dealership, and becoming the new authorized Mini dealer in Jordan!

With a very good looking urban styled setup, Mini started with introducing 3 of their latest models.
The Mini Cooper Hatch, Coupe, and Roadster.

It's more than just a car – it's a personality on wheels – a cool, trendy fashion statement that really puts a smile on everyone's face.

The Cooper S Hatch, looked great in blue with the black stripes on the hood. It was also displayed very smartly, with a graffiti looking sticker on the left side, which completed the graffiti poster on the wall behind it.

The Hatch Cooper S model, a 2 door hatchback , has a front 1.6L Turbocharged engine that produces 175 hp running on its Front Wheel drive system. Also equipped with an Overboost system, which boosts the torque by 20 Nm under harder acceleration.

Can do 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds, Top speed of 201 km/h, and comes in either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Cool looking spoiler attached to the roof of the car for better downforce.

At the entrance of the showroom, We saw maybe 4 or 5 of the Red Bull Minis! which are recognizable around town. It was cool seeing them there.

After an opening speech by Zaid al Abdallat, General Manager of Abu Khader Automotive. Sarah Klippert, Manager of Mini Middle East introduced the brand to the audience as a warm up before the hatch model entered the showroom.

Followed up by my personal favorite, the all new Mini Coupe! The fastest production Mini so far.
The first two-seater Mini and the first to have a three-box design; the engine compartment, the passenger compartment and the luggage compartments are all separated.

Mini have displayed the new Coupe in a beautiful way! The car is actually RED! But with the glow-in-the-dark white decals all over the car, and the blacklight setup ..it just looked great. It was a new way to display the car. Not sure if it's legal on the street, but that would look pretty good at night!

It did have a low roof, but still had a pretty comfortable head space. Ceiling didn't bother us at all, and it just felt great being a 2-seater sporty Mini!

The John Cooper trim can do 0-62 mph in 6.4 seconds with the top speed of 240 km/h.
It has a 1.6L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 208 hp

Having almost the same spoiler attached to its roof as the hatch model, the Coupe had a motorized rear spoiler that retracts at a certain speed and can even be controlled by a click of a button on the dashboard.

And to the 3rd and last model that Mini have displayed is the all new Roadster. Being produced in 2012, it's the latest model for now. Depending on the market, the soft top is either manually operated or partially electrically operated. The model at the showroom was manually operated, and I think it even lightens up the car which gives it better performance!

Too bad we couldn't get clear shots of the Roadster, but we got a good look at the interior!
The driver side RPM gauges, and the middle speedometer are just classic Mini. Gives you the Go-Kart feeling. And all the flip switches are just something else.

At the end of the event, we had some time and thought we could do something as fun as Mini and maybe have a Light Graffiti session! Enjoy :)

You can pass by Abu Khader Automotive on Mecca Street, where you can check out all 3 models and get some price quotes.

We'll be updating you guys with the new Mini line-up when we get our hands on them in the upcoming weeks! Stay tuned :)

Very creative paint jobs. They managed to add a whole lot more life into the humble mini cooper.
